Derreck Todd Lee, the man convicted of killing one Louisiana woman, and suspected in the deaths of several others, has died according to WAFB in Baton Rouge.

Earlier this week, the Louisiana Department of Corrections said that Lee had been taken to a hospital for medical treatment of an undisclosed conditiion.

The death row inmate was convicted, and received the death penalty for, the 2002 murder of Charlotte Murray Pace.  He also got a life sentence for the second-degree murder in death of Geralyn Barr DeSoto.

The death row inmate was taken to get medical care outside of Angola.

Derrick Todd Lee, was not prosecuted for them, is suspected of killing seven other women between 1998 and 2003.

One of the women Derrick Todd Lee is suspected of killing was 23-year-old Trineisha Dene Colomb of Lafayette.

Back in November of 2002 Dene Colomb's body was found severly beaten by a hunter near Scott.  Her car had been found abandoned near Grand Coteau on November 22.

She was reported missing the day her abandoned car was found and two days later her body was found.

Colomb's family later set up a foundation in the woman's name, The Colomb Foundation, to honor her memory and assist people in the community through outreach services.
