"This game was over after the first three minutes."

So said Louisiana head coach Bob Marlin after Denver jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back in an easy 77-52 win over Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns in front of an announced crowd of 5, 870 at Magness Arena.

Denver (19-8, 9-5 Sun Belt) built a double digit lead in the first five minutes of the game and the Cajuns never had an answer.  The Pioneers shot 59% in each half, the first team to shoot 50% or better against the Cajuns (15-13, 9-5) all season.

The Cajuns managed only six field goals in the first half, shooting a dismal 22 percent as Denver rolled to a 39-17 halftime lead.

The lead grew to 27 points in the second half before the Cajuns went on an 11-2 run to cut the lead to sixteen in the second half.  But the Pioneers quickly got the lead back up to 20 and the Cajuns got no closer than 18 the rest of the night.

Chris Udofia led all scorers with 19 points.  The Sun Belt's leading scorer had the bulk of his points in the second half.  Justin Coughlin added 14 points, all in the first half, while Chase Hallam chipped in 13 and Brett Olson 10.

Darshawn McClellan was the only Cajun in double figures with ten points.

The Cajuns now travel to Denton, Texas to take on the North Texas Mean Green at the Super Pit Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm.
