In case you haven't noticed the Washington Nationals have crept their way back into the National League playoff picture, and outfielder Denard Span is a big reason why.

Here, we see the 29-year old Span singling to left in the fifth inning against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night, to increase his current hit streak to 28 games, which is the longest in Major League Baseball this year.

The Nationals went on to win, went on to win, 4-0, and sweep a split doubleheader, to improve their record to 81-70, which puts them 4.5 games behind the Cincinnati Reds in the race for the final NL wild-card spot.

Since August 2, the Nationals are 29-14.
