It certainly would be silly to press the panic button after only one game, but the New Orleans Saints defense, which a lot of people felt would be much-improved this season, looked a lot like the unit that played with such inconsistency in 2010.

The Seattle Seahawks eliminated the Saints from the playoffs last year, piling up 415 yards of total offense in their wild-card match-up.

Things didn't change much in Thursday night's opener, as the Packers torched the Saints' defense for 399 yards.

The Saints actually outgained the opposition in both of those games, but failed to win, as the defense gave up too many big plays.

Pat Yasinskas, of ESPN.com, says that defensive struggles proved to be the Saints' undoing in week one.
