Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz went 4-for-5 in an 11-8 win over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night, giving him 1,688 career hits as a DH, which ties a Major League Baseball record, alongside Harold Baines.

Ortiz, who doubled twice, and also homered in the three-run win, now has 1,951 career total hits, with 263 hits being credited to him while playing either first base, or pinch-hitting.
