There will be no magical run for Connecticut in the Big East Tournament this year.

UCONN took a second half lead, but #2 Syracuse rallied to eliminate the Huskies, 58-55 in teh quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament.

Connecticut had won their first two games, bringing back memories of winning five games in five days on their way to the National Championship a year ago.

But the Orange,(31-1)  paced by a bench that scored more than half their points, held the Huskies to 34 percent shooting and just 6-23 from behind the arc.

Dion Walters paced 'Cuse with 18 points off the bench.  James Sutherland and Kris Joseph added ten points each.

Shabazz Napier scored 15 to lead UCONN (20-13), who, with two wins in the tournament, assured their spot in the NCAA Field of 68 to be released on Sunday.
