Crashing a Car at 120 MPH Leaves Quite a Dent [VIDEO]
The British motoring show ‘Fifth Gear’ staged one of the world’s most horrific looking and sounding car crash tests by running a Ford Focus head-on into a concrete wall at 120 mph.
This “worst case scenario” crash was designed to show what would happen if two average family cars were to crash head-on. The typical car crash tests usually have vehicles traveling at a maximum of 40 mph to determine safety ratings.
It’s nice to know that all those years we spent playing Grand Theft Auto coupled with our love of NASCAR still hasn’t numbed our wincing reactions to the worst case scenario when it comes to car accidents. If, however, you didn’t flinch while watching a full ton of mechanical metal being reduced to something the size of a Sucrets box, you might want to seek professional help.
