Commodores Club Tigers, 11-3

The Vanderbilt Commodores cruised past the LSU Tigers, 11-3, in the opening game of their SEC weekend series, on Friday night, in Nashville, Tennessee. Bill Franques, of lsusports.net, has the story, below.

Right-hander Sonny Gray fired seven strong innings Friday night and rightfielder Mike Yastrzemski drove in three runs to lead third-ranked Vanderbilt to an 11-3 victory over LSU at Hawkins Field.

Vanderbilt improved to 33-5 overall, 12-4 in the SEC, while LSU dropped to 24-15 overall and 4-12 in conference play.
