Second verse, same as the first.

After getting outscored 42-12 in an 85-63 loss to Houston Saturday night, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns again found themselves on the wrong end of three point scoring as the Cajuns fell to Robert Morris, 66-61 Tuesday night at the Cajundome.

The Colonials (8-4) hit a sizzling 13-27 from three point range, while the Cajuns could only manage 3-19 in dropping to 4-8 on the season.

The win was the fifth straight for Robert Morris and gave them a two game sweep in the series against the Cajuns dating back to last year.

Karvel Anderson (3-5), Coron Williams (5-9) and Velton Jones (3-4) did the damage from beyond the arc.  Anderson finished with a game-high seventeen points, Williams added sixteen and Jones twelve.

Bryant Mbamalu scored a season high 21 points for the Cajuns and had the only three pointers in the game for Louisiana (3-5).  The rest of the team was 0-14.  Elfrid Payton added 19 points for the Cajuns, while freshman Shawn Long had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

The Cajuns trailed by six points, 40-34 at halftime, but fought back to take their first lead at the 13:51 mark of the second half, 48-47 on a Mbamalu triple. Two Elfrid Payton layups increased the lead to five points, 52-47 with 12:40 left.  But Robert Morris switched to a zone defense and the Cajuns scored only nine points the rest of the way.  Three pointers by Coron Williams and Russell Johnson gave the Colonials the lead back at 53-52 and Robert Morris never trailed again.

Karvel Anderson hit another three to extend the lead to four points with 8:02 to play.  Shawn Long finally broke the six minute scoring drought by scoring on a layup with 6:35 left to cut the lead to two, but that was as close as the Cajuns would get.

After taking the five point lead, the Cajuns missed nine shots and turned the ball over seven times.

Louisiana will play its final non-conference game of the season when they entertain Duquesne of the Atlantic-10 Conference Saturday night at the Cajundome.  The Cajuns are partnering with United Way of Acadiana for that contest, with tickets priced at $5.00.  Half of the proceeds will go to the United Way.
