Last night's incredible matchup between Kansas and Oklahoma was a great way to remind sports fans it's time to pay close attention to college basketball.  Now, it's not like you shouldn't pay attention to it before January 1st, but here in the deep South we frequently wait until after the bowl season to really start paying attention.  And, if last night's game didn't get you ready for conference hoops, well, you probably are waiting for next August to come out of hibernation.

There's no guarantee we'll get another one like last night (in fact, we can just about guarantee we won't) but there are some games worth taking in this week:

TONIGHT--KENTUCKY AT LSU--8pm, ESPN--The Tigers have been one of college basketball's biggest enigmas this season but after a solid performance at Vandy, there's hope.  Playing at the PMAC gives LSU a chance.

WEDNESDAY--SETON HALL AT VILLANOVA--6pm FOX Sports 1---In case you haven't noticed, the Big East is back.  Both teams are 12-2 on the year.  This league is going to be fun to watch.

EVANSVILLE AT WICHITA STATE--7pm, ESPN3--The Daddy of the Valley has had injury issues and they don't have a great record, but until somebody tells them otherwise, they're still the daddy.  Are the Purple Aces the team to give the Shockers a message?

TEXAS TECH AT IOWA STATE--8pm, ESPNU--Tubby Smith's team is 11-1 and heads to Ames for a showdown with one of the best in the Big 12.  Ready for this?  It's Texas Tech's FIRST true road game of the season.

THURSDAY--TROY AT GEORGIA STATE--6:30 ESPN3--Cajuns and Panthers play a week from Saturday.  Here's a chance to get a preview and see if there's life after R. J. Hunter for the defending champs.  Watch it while listening to the Cajun women and men at Little Rock.  Women at 5:15, men at 7:30.

ARIZONA AT UCLA--8pm ESPN2--UCLA has lost only once at home.  Arizona has lost only once, period.  These teams are good.

FRIDAY---Go see some high school basketball in the area.

SATURDAY--LSU at FLORIDA 12:30--CBS, SOUTH ALABAMA AT GEORGIA STATE 1:30 ESPN3, KANSAS STATE AT OKLAHOMA 3:30 ESPNNews, NORTH CAROLINA AT SYRACUSE 7pm ESPN.  And, the Cajuns have a split doubleheader with Arkansas State...women at 3pm.  Men at 7:05.

SUNDAY--VILLANOVA AT BUTLER 6:30, FOXSports1--Football should be over.  This is must see TV right here.
