The Houston Astros signed centerfielder Colby Rasmus to a one-year, $8 million free agent contract on Tuesday.

The 28-year old Rasmus hit a .225, to go along with 18 home runs and 40 runs batted in for the Toronto Blue Jays last season.

In six Major League Baseball seasons, including stops with the St. Louis Cardinals and Blue Jays, Rasmus has posted a .246 career average, with 116 homers and 352 RBI's.
