In his first game at the Hive this season, former New Orleans Hornets (25-47) point guard Chris Paul led his Los Angeles Clippers (49-23) to a 105-91 win. Paul had 16 points, nine assists and six rebounds.

While Paul represents the past of the Hornets, Anthony Davis represents the future of the Pelicans. The Hornets rookie started slow Wednesday night, missing his first three shots. He then made 9 in a row, finishing with an impressive 19 points and 9 rebounds.

Eric Gordon had a game-high 24 points, including a 6-7 night from the charity stripe.

The three-point shot was great to the Hornets in Monday's win over the Nuggets. Wednesday night was a different story.

Six different Clippers hit at least one three-pointer, while L.A. shot 13 for 29 from beyond the arc. The Hornets only made 4 of 14 attempts.

Next up for the Hornets is a Friday night matchup with the defending NBA champion Miami Heat. Miami holds the league's best record at at 56-15. They were riding a 27-game winning streak (second longest in NBA history) until a Wednesday night loss to the Chicago Bulls.
