Former Saints director of player personnel Ryan Pace has made his first major move as GM of the Chicago Bears, hiring John Fox as his new head coach.

According to ESPN, Fox has inked a four-year deal with Chicago.

Fox has been a head coach for the last 13 years in the NFL, serving as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers from 2002-2010, and the last 4 seasons with the Denver Broncos.

In Carolina, Fox led the Panthers to their only Super Bowl appearance in the 2003 season. He led the Broncos to the Super Bowl last year, losing both times he got to the Big One.

Former Ragin' Cajun QB Jake Delhomme spent seven seasons as the starting QB of the Panthers. Appearing on Carmen and Jurko radio show on ESPN100 in Chicago, Delhomme shared his thoughts on the hiring of Fox.

"You're talking about a coach that takes Carolina to their only Super Bowl in franchise existence," Delhomme explained. "He goes to Denver and wins four division championships. Obviously, people will say, 'Well of course, he had Peyton Manning.' Well, he had Tim Tebow for the first one. I'm not sure how talented that roster was when he first got there, and they won a playoff game. So I think you bring an instant winner as soon as you walk in, and one that is going to reflect well with the players."

Fox, 59, sports a 118-89 regular season head coaching record, and an 8-7 career postseason record.
