Free agent All-Pro guard Carl Nicks admits he would "love" to remain with the Saints, but is skeptical about his future in New Orleans.

Nicks, along with 4 teammates, accepted the Prilosec OTC Madden Protectors Award today. The award is given to the best offensive line in the NFL. Its the second time in three years the Saints O-line has won the award.

A big reason for the offensive line's success is Nicks. The 4th year guard out of Nebraska has been honored the last two seasons as an All-Pro. Many NFL scouts believe he's the best guard in football.

He was asked today if he felt the Saints would make a strong push to resign him. His answer was both honest and telling.

"I hope so. Do I sincerely believe it? Uh ... they've still got to do Drew Brees' deal," explained Nicks. "And I think Marques (Colston) is up and Tracy (Porter) is up. I just don't see it, man, so I don't know. I would love to stay, but who knows."

Who knows?
