It was quite the weekend for Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin. After winning his very first Stanley Cup last week he and the Capitals really enjoyed sharing the Cup with the rest of Washington.

He and his teammates took the Cup to a Washington Nationals game and the lefty got an opportunity to throw out the first pitch, or should I say two opportunities...

I guess when you're a Stanley Cup champion you afford yourself a mulligan on your first throw. After his first throw sails over Max Scherzer's head, he beckons for another chance and like a champ, so to speak, he adjusted beautifully with quite the eephus pitch.

I'm not sure if it was Ovi's first time really throwing a baseball but if it wasn't it sure looked like it. Of course, there's no way to tell how much he had already consumed alcohol wise prior to the pitch because the rest of the weekend must have been a blur for the star.

Keg stands out of the Cup, frolicking in a public fountain, and many other adventures throughout the day but did Alex and the Cup make it back home alright?

They sure did!
