Can OKC Survive Game Seven In Golden State?

When you have a chance to eliminate the reigning champions, you have to stomp out any hope of a comeback. OKC had Golden State pinned down, but they let them squirm out from under their boot to force Game Seven in the Western Conference Finals.

The Warriors were cornered, but their fight-or-flight survival instinct kicked in during the second half of Game Six in Oklahoma City. Klay Thompson scored 19 points in the 4th Quarter, and he set a new playoff high with 11 makes from beyond the arc. His fellow Splash Brother, Steph Curry, looked like the MVP when his back was against the wall too.

Two games ago, it looked like the Thunder had Golden State on the ropes. Now, do you even think OKC stands a chance?

If you're a history buff, you know the last time a team came back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Conference Finals was over two decades ago (the '81 Celtics came back agaist the 76ers). Why does it feel like Golden State is ready to defy the odds?

Maybe it's because the Warriors are almost untouchable at home in Oracle Arena. Oklahoma City defied the odds once already, so the statistics point to Golden State defending their turf.

Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant have been superb the entire series. Westbrook is dropping triple-doubles and working Curry to death, but he is now the one fighting to survive.

Meanwhile, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are waiting for their opponent in the NBA Finals. While OKC and Golden State beat each other up in Game Seven, the Cavs will be resting up in their own beds.

If Golden State wants to avoid an asterisk next to their NBA regular season win record (*=didn't win NBA Championship), they need to rise from the darkness and claim Game Seven.
