Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball (10-12, 3-8 SBC) team dropped a tight one in San Marcos on Saturday, falling to the Texas State Bobcats 70-64.

Garry Brodhead's squad was cold from the outside, and had to focus on scoring near the rim. The results were better, as the Cajuns finished with 32 points in the paint, compared to the Bobcats 18.

Brooklyn Arceneaux and Jaylyn Gordon led the Cajuns in scoring with 15 a piece.

While the Cajuns shot 35% from the field, the Bobcats actually struggled more, going 16-50 for 32%. Texas State was able to win by 6 because of the charity stripe.

The Cajuns were called for 34 fouls, while the officials called the Bobcats for 20. This led to a large discrepancy at the free throw line, as Texas State shot 44, sinking 35 of them. Half of their entire point total came off free throws. UL shot far less, attempted only 23 free throws and making 15.

Louisiana will look to get on the right track this Wednesday at the Cajundome, as they host UALR. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
