Cajuns Win Conference Opener, Defeat FAU, 67-55-Game Recap

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team opened-up Sun Belt Conference play with a victory on Saturday, defeating the FAU Owls, 67-55, at the Cajundome.

Louisiana led it at the half, 36-29, and then coasted to the 12-point victory, as FAU was only able to get within six points in the second half.

UL out-shot FAU from the field, 46%-37%, and were also able to out-rebound the Owls by a 40-35 count.

Darshawn McClellan paced four Cajuns in double-digits, with 15 points, while Alan-Michael Thompson added 12.

Josh Brown contributed a team-high eight rebounds for UL.

In a losing cause for the Owls, they were led by 15 points of Greg Gantt.

The victory was the fifth-straight at home for the Cajuns, wo are now 6-1 at home this season.

With the win, the Cajuns improved to 7-8 overall, and 1-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while FAU dropped to 4-10, and 0-1, respectively.
