Cajuns up to #12 in Latest Softball Polls

A 5-0 record in the prestigious NFCA leadoff classic in Clearwater, Florida last weekend has vaulted Louisiana's softball team to a #12 ranking in both the USA Today and ESPN polls.

The Cajuns were 17th and 18th in the polls last week, but the five wins, including a 10-7 win over nationally ranked Michigan, got the notice of the voters this week.

As the result of the play over the weekend, UL's Ashley Brignac was named the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week.

The Cajuns are home this weekend for the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational Tournament.
