Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Saturday afternoon, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad travels to Atlanta, Georgia to tangle with the Georgia St. Panthers in a key Sun Belt Conference tilt.

Tip-off time is scheduled for approximately 1:15, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, along with Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show that follows the women's game.

The game will mark the opening game of a three-game road trip for Louisiana, and will be the back-end of a women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women taking on Georgia St. at 10 am.

Louisiana, who is coming off of a 96-59 home win over Arkansas St. on Thursday night,  is 11-8, overall, on the season, and 5-3 in league play, while Georgia St., who beat Arkansas St., 60-54, on Monday night, is currently 12-7, overall, and 5-4 in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 81.s/70.9, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 47.8%/42.2%, and holding down a 40.5/34.1 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by junior forward Shawn Long, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 16.8 ppg, and 9.5 rpg, respectively, and senior forward Brian Williams, who is averaging 12.1 points, to go along with 4.2 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana is 2-5 on the road this season, including a 2-1 conference mark away from home.

The Panthers are out-scoring the opposition, 73.2/65.7, and out-shooting foes from the field, 46.6%/40.1%, while being out-rebounded, 33.8/32.3.

Georgia St. is paced by senior guard Ryan Harrow, who is averaging 20.4 points and 2.0 rebounds-per-game, along with junior guard R.J. Hunter, who is averaging 20.2 points, along with 4.4 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana leads all-time series, 3-1, including an 84-80 win in Lafayette back on January 8 in the first meeting between the two squads this year.
