Cajuns to Meet Rice in collegeinsider.com Tournament

ragincajuns.com

Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns basketball team found out today that Rice will be their first opponent in the collegeinsider.com basketball tournament Wednesday at the Cajundome.

The Cajuns accepted their bid yesterday and Rice was rumored to be a possible opponent along with Lamar, McNeese State, Stephen F. Austin and Louisiana Tech.

Rice is 17-15 on the season.  They are coached by Ben Braun, who had many successful years as the coach at California.

This will be the first recognized postseason appearance since 2003 when they participated in the NIT.

The Cajuns also had back to back NCAA appearances in 2004-05, but those were vacated due to NCAA sanctions.
