Stefan Trosclair and Dylan Butler homered, and freshmen Evan Guillory and Dylan Moore scattered seven hits as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns defeated Georgia Southern 5-1 in a game called in the bottom of the eighth inning because of rain at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field Sunday afternoon.

Louisiana (16-13, 8-6 Sun Belt) bounced back after dropping the first two games of the series to the Eagles (19-14, 9-6.)

Guillory (3-0) allowed six hits and just one run through six innings of work.  The freshman walked three and struck out six, throwing 92 pitches.  Moore allowed one hit with a walk and a strikeout in two innings and recorded his fourth save of the season.

The Cajuns scored first for the third time in the series when Butler lined his fourth homer of the season to left field with two out off Georgia Southern starter Connor Simmons (1-2).  The Eagles tied the game off Guillory in the third when Logan Baldwin singled and moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Kent Rollins.  Guillory then issued back to back walks to Kody Adams and Aaron Mizell, loading the bases and Baldwin scored on a ground out by Chase Griffin.

The Cajuns came right back in their half of the third when Blake Trahan singled, extending his hitting streak to 20 games.  He went to second on a hit and run ground ball by Brian Mills and moved to third on a ground ball by Trosclair.  Tyler Girouard broke the tie with a single to left and the Cajuns never trailed again.

Trosclair led off the fifth off reliever Ryan Frederick with his third homer of the series and extended his hitting streak to 12 games.  Girouard walked against reliever Jason Richman and Greg Davis followed with an infield single.  Girouard stole third and scored on a sacrifice by Nick Thurman.  After Evan Powell walked, Butler hit into a force play with Davis moving to third and pinch hitter Kyle Clement delivered the third run of the inning with a shot off Richman that went for an infield hit.

The Cajuns were poised to extend the lead in the eighth as Trahan singled and Trosclair lined a one out double.  But the skies opened up and the game was called after a 28 minute delay.

The Cajuns will be back in action Tuesday when they entertain the Houston Cougars at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field.  First pitch is scheduled for 6pm.  The game will be heard on ESPN1420 beginning at 5:30.
