Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team captured their weekend conference series at Troy, defeating the Trojans Sunday afternoon 7-2.

Louisiana cranked out 11 hits, including 3 from junior right fielder Tyler Stover.

"The guys came out and got after it at the plate today," head coach Tony Robichaux said in postgame. "We were able to score throughout the game. I like that we punched their guy in the mouth and then chased him from the game. I thought Tyler Stover did a good job at the plate today and was very physical."

The Cajuns scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st, another in the 4th, leading comfortably throughout.

Juniors Kennon Fontenot and Steven Sensley each finish with a pair of hits, with Fontenot knocking in his first home run of the season.

Sophomore right hander Hogan Harris (2-0) delivered the winning performance on the mound, giving up one run on 2 hits, fanning 7 batters in 5 complete innings of work.

"Hogan was very sharp today," Robichaux noted. "His fast ball was very good and he was able to go out and challenge their hitters. We flipped the script today with 14 strikeouts from our pitchers after striking out 14 times yesterday."

Junior Wyatt Marks pitched the 6th, 7th and 8th inning, striking out 4. Junior closer Dylan Moore sealed the deal in the 9th.

The 4th game of Louisiana's 5 game road swing continues on Tuesday with a trip to Lake Charles for a battle with McNeese State. First pitch is set for 6pm, with the pregame show beginning at 5:30 on ESPN1420 and ESPN1420.com.
