Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team racked up 12 hits, leaning on strong pitching from two aces on their way to a 6-1 win over the St. Peter's Peacocks.

After holding the Peacocks to 1 hit on Friday night, St. Peter's ripped off 3 hits in the top of the 2nd off Cajun starter Nick Lee to add their first run of the weekend and an early 1-0 lead.

"Once he got over the fact he gave up a hit he shouldn't have and buckled down, he was fine," said head coach Tony Robichaux of Lee.

Robichaux met with Lee on the mound after the run, and the sophomore was lights out after that, throwing 5 innings of hitless ball from that point on. He finished with 5 strikeouts.

Wyatt Marks replaced Lee in the 6th, pitching the final 3 innings, allowing only 2 hits, fanning 3 batters.

Offensively, the Cajuns scored 2 runs in the second, 2 in the third, 1 in the fifth and 1 in the sixth.

"We worked the plate well today," said Robichaux. "It's about improving and not beating ourselves. We didn't beat ourself today."

Senior Alex Pinero led the way for the  Cajuns offensively, going 3 of 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.

Junior Kennon Fontenot added a double as well, going 2 of 3 and drawing a walk.

"The goal tomorrow is to come out and finish what we started," explained Robichaux.

Louisiana looks to sweep the non-conference series tomorrow. First pitch from M.L. Tigue Moore Field at Russo Park is set for 1:00.
