Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns are headed to the Sun Belt Men's Basketball Semifinals with a 91-85 over #6 seed UT Arlington at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans Friday night.

The third-seeded Cajuns (21-11) advance to play #2 Western Kentucky Saturday afternoon at 4:30.

Xavian Rimmer scored a career high 24 points for the Cajuns, Bryant Mbamalu added 20, and Shawn Long had another double double with 19 points and 17 rebounds.

UTA (15-17) was led by Jamel Outler's 26 points, while the league's leading scorer Reger Dowell added 25.  Brandon Edwards scored 22 points and snagged eleven rebounds.  Lonnie McClanahan, who averaged 29 points in the two previous games against the Cajuns, scored only seven points and fouled out with 1:02 remaining.

The Cajuns trailed by three points early, but opened a lead of as much as 12 points in the first half before UTA was able to cut the lead to five points, 46-41 at halftime.  The Cajuns' Elfrid Payton was saddled with two fouls and played just six minutes in the first half, going scoreless.  Long scored nine first half points, but also was saddled with foul trouble and played just 12 minutes in the first half.

Louisiana built its lead to as many as fourteen points in the second half.  The Mavericks made a couple of runs, but got no closer than four points in the second half.

The win was the third straight over UTA this season, with the Cajuns scoring over 90 points in each of the three games.

Louisiana has now won nine of its last eleven games.
