Louisiana Ragin' Cajun shortstop Blake Trahan and second baseman Stefan Trosclair were recognized today as 3rd team All-Americans by Louisville Slugger.

Trahan, the Sun Belt player of the year, is batting .336 on 76 hits, with 28 RBI, 15 doubles, a triple and 2 homeruns. A terrific infielder, the junior is projected to be a first round pick in the MLB draft according to MLB.com.

Trosclair, also a junior and first-team All-Sun Belt selection is batting .358 on the season, with a team and conference high in homeruns (16) and RBI (53). His grand slam in the 12th inning of Sunday's Sun Belt Conference championship game helped propel Louisiana into the NCAA Tournament with the Sun Belt Conference automatic bid.

“I’m proud for both Blake and Stefan to be honored for their accomplishments,” head coach Tony Robichaux said in a University press release. “Anytime you have someone in your program receive a national award it puts the university in the spotlight. Yet again this is another example of baseball paying someone back for their hard work and effort. Blake has continued to work hard and be a leader for this program since he stepped on campus. He’s a leader both on the field and off of the field. Stefan had to wait for his turn as he battled back from an injury. But, he worked while he waited to get his opportunity, and it paid off for him.”

Louisiana begins play in the Houston Regional tomorrow versus the Rice Owls at 2:30. The radio pregame begins at 2:00 as Jay Walker and Jeff Schneider have the call. Catch the game on NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL FM, ESPN1420 AM, espn1420.com and Radio Pup.
