The 17th ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns split a pair of games on the final day of the Judi Garman Classic, defeating Fresno State 7-2 before falling to #8 Baylor in the nightcap 1-0.

The Cajuns are 12-5 on the season after going 1-2 in their trip to Fullerton, California.  Coach Gerry Glasco's team will open conference play next weekend in Conway, SC when they take on Coastal Carolina.

GAME ONE--LOUISIANA 7, FRESNO STATE 2

The Cajuns jumped on Fresno starter Danielle East (6-5) for five runs in the first inning on five hits and a Fresno error.  Lexie Comeaux, Kourtney Gremillion, Aeriyl Mass and Kelli Martinez all had RBI as the Cajuns batted around in the first.

Louisiana added a run in the second on an RBI sacrifice fly by Cassidy Chaumont.  The teams then traded runs in the third inning and Louisiana led 7-1.  A fourth inning homer by Vanessa Hernandez completed the scoring.

Casey Dixon (3-0) pitched a complete game for the Cajuns, allowing just four hits.  She walked four and struck out five.

BAYLOR 1, LOUISIANA 0

Goose McGlaun's second inning homer provided the only run of the game and Gia Ridoni (6-2) made it stand up as the Bears defeated the Cajuns.

Summer Ellyson (5-3) was the hard luck loser, allowing just four hits.  She did not walk a batter and struck out three in her complete game performance.

The Cajuns had their chances, stranding five runners on scoring position on the day.  Rodini scattered eight singles and did not walk a batter while striking out four.  Kara Gremillion and Lexie Comeaux each had a pair of hits for Louisiana.
