The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns spotted Troy a 5-1 first inning lead and then came back with a flurry of their own, scoring ten unanswered runs, then held on to defeat the Trojans 12-8, knocking the host team from the tournament.

The Cajuns scored six runs in the second inning to take the lead for good, then added three runs in the fourth and two more in the sixth, before the Trojans got a run in the bottom of the sixth and two more in the eighth for the final margin.

The lead didn't last long, however as Evan Powell drew a one out walk off starter Grant Bennett (9-4) an Davis belted his seventh homer of the season to get the Cajuns within two.  After Dylan Butler flied out, Trahan walked and came home on Brenn Conrad's double to the base of the wall.  Clement walked and Trosclair cranked his 15th homer of the season to give the Cajuns a 7-5 lead.

The Cajuns weren't finished as Conrad led off the sixth with his second double of the game and scored on Clement's single.  Trosclair hit into a force play, stole second and scored on Girouard's double to end the Cajuns' scoring.

Milhorn worked into the sixth inning and was relieved by Colton Lee after hitting Clay Holcomb to open the inning.  Holcomb stole second and scored on Cameron Sanders' single.  Lee walked two men to load the bases before getting pinch hitter David Hall on a hit back to the mound.

Matt Sanders led off the eighth with a homer.  Reagan Bazar relieved Lee and walked Hill with one out.  After striking out Trevin Hall, Shaw Pinnell doubled home a run before Will Bacon got the final out of the inning, then struck out the side in the ninth for his second save of the season..

Milhorn worked 4.2 innings, giving up just one hit.  He walked two and struck out six, throwing 73 pitches.  Bennett, a second team all-conference pitcher, allowed eight hits and ten earned runs with four walks and five strikeouts in 3.1 innings.

The loss ended the career of Troy coach Bobby Pierce who announced his retirement before the season began. Pierce retires as the winningest coach in program history and had a total of over 900 wins in his career.

The Cajuns will be back in action tomorrow night as they will face the loser of the Texas State/UT Arlington game.  The game is scheduled for 6:30 and can be heard on 96.5 KPEL-FM.
