Cajuns Remain On Road To Face Georgia Southern – Inside The Numbers
Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Thursday night, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad travels to Statesboro, Georgia to take on the Georgia Southern Eagles in a Sun Belt Conference match-up.
The game will be the backend of a day/night, women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women taking on Georgia Southern earlier in the day.
Tipoff time for the men’s game is set for 6:30 pm.

Louisiana, who fell to Arkansas St., 71-69, last Saturday night, is 5-8, overall, and 1-3 in league play, while Georgia Southern, who beat Troy in overtime on Saturday night, 93-88, is currently 5-9, and 1-3, respectively.
The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 81.0/77.5, and outshooting them from the floor, 44%/43%, while also holding down a 43.1/36.3 rebound advantage.
Louisiana is led by senior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 18.5 points, to go along with 12.3 rebounds-per-game, and senior guard Kasey Shepherd, who is averaging 11.0 points and 2.4 rebounds a contest.
Georgia Southern is outscoring the opposition, 79.1/78.2, while being outshot from the floor, 45%/41%, and outrebounded, 40.3/38.8.
The Eagles are paced by junior forward Tookie Brown, who is scoring 17.1 points, while pulling down 2.7 rebounds-per-game.
