Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns are ready to get back into the conference wars this weekend, when they host the Red Wolves of Arkansas State in a three game Sun Belt Conference series at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

The Cajuns (12-8, 2-1 Sun Belt) head into the weekend having had both of their scheduled mid-week games rained out.  The Cajuns are still working to reschedule Tuesday's rainout at Tulane.  The Cajuns will travel to Northwestern State Tuesday, April 17th  for a makeup of Wednesdays scheduled game.

Arkansas State (11-9, 3-0), opened league play last weekend with a three-game sweep over rival Arkansas-Little Rock at Tomlinson Stadium in Jonesboro.  Coach Tommy Raffo's squad has had good success against the Cajuns, having won five of the last seven games between the two teams.  Louisiana hasn't beaten ASU in a series at the "Tigue" since 2007.

Righthander Jordan Nicholson (3-1, 3.26 ERA) will match up with Red Wolves' ace Jacob Lee (3-0, 2.76) Friday night at 6pm.    Nicholson is fresh off a four-hit shutout against Louisiana-Monroe last Friday, a performance that earned him the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week awazrd.   On Saturday, Louisiana will throw left-hander Chris Griffitt (3-1, 3.80), who will be opposed by ASU righty Daniel Wright (0-2, 3.56) in a 2:05 contest).  Both teams are TBA for Sunday.  Game time for the series finale is 1pm.

Statistically, there's not a lot of difference between the two clubs.  Heading into the weekend, Arkansas State is fourth in the Sun Belt in hitting with a .277 average.  The Cajuns are just a point behind at .276.  The Cajuns are second in the league in pitching with a team ERA of 3.70, while ASU is fourth at 3.76.   The Cajuns sit at the #2 spot defensively with a .970 fielding percentage, while the Red Wolves are fifth at .966.

The Cajuns are also hosting the annual Alumni Weekend this weekend, welcoming back all former players.
