Michael Strentz delivered a walk-off single in the 11th inning to lift Louisiana to a 7-6 victory over South Alabama in the 1,000th game of the Tony Robichaux Era Saturday evening at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field.
With the win Louisiana evened the Sun Belt series with South Alabama. The rubber match is set for Sunday at 1 p.m.
The game-winner by Strentz completed a come-from-behind victory for the Cajuns (22-18, 9-8 Sun Belt) who scored five times in the eighth inning to erase a 5-1 deficit only to have the Jaguars (22-17, 9-8 Sun Belt) even the score in the ninth to force extra innings.
