Cajuns Projected to Host Regional by D1Baseball

The preseason Field of 64 was released today by D1Baseball and if the pundits are correct, M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park will be hosting another NCAA Regional.

D1Baseball projects #2 seed Rice, #3 seed Tulane and #4 seed Jacksonville State (Ohio Valley Conference) will be headed to Lafayette.

Not surprisingly, Lafayette is paired with Baton Rouge, where LSU is projected as the #6 National seed.  #2 Houston, #3 Southern Miss and #4 Alabama State would be headed to Baton Rouge if the projection holds.

The Sun Belt is projected to receive two host sites, as defending national champion Coastal Carolina is projected as a host site as well.  D1Baseball believes Clemson, Indiana and Wright State could be headed to Conway.  That regional is paired with #3 national seed Florida State.

South Alabama was also projected to get into the Field of 64 from the Sun Belt.  The Jaguars were projected as a #3 seed in the Tallahassee Regional with #1 Florida State, #2 Mississippi State and #4 Florida A&M.
