Cajuns Place Five On All-Sun Belt Team
Five members of the UL softball team were named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Team, announced Tuesday night, including junior Ashley Brignac, who was named Pitcher of the Year, and junior Christi Orgeron, who was named Player of the Year. Senior first baseman Gabrielle Bridges was named to the first-team, while sophomore shortstop Nerissa Myers, and sophomore Sarah Draheim were named to the second-team. The Sun Belt Conference announced its annual All-Sun Belt Conference Softball Teams Tuesday night at a pre-championship celebration in Lafayette, La.
Regular season champion Louisiana-Lafayette leads the way with five players named to the all-conference teams, including two earning individual yearly honors. Juniors Christi Orgeron and Ashley Brignac were named the Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively.
