Evan Guillory and Chris Charpentier limited UT Arlington to just five hits as Louisiana stayed alive in the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament, defeating the Mavericks 5-1 Friday night at Riddle-Pace Field in Troy, Alabama.

Guillory (4-0) pitched the first six innings, allowing just one run in the sixth inning, throwing 110 pitches.  Guillory walked one and struck out seven.  Charpentier pitched hitless ball over the final three innings with three walks and six strikeouts.

Louisiana (36-21) got on the board in the first inning on an RBI double by Tyler Girouard off Mavericks' starter Brad Vassar (2-7).  They added three more runs in the second inning as Joe Robbins led off with a single and was doubled to third by Nick Thurman.  Reliever Jacob Moreland was greeted by a two run single by Dylan Butler.  Butler was forced at second by Blake Trahan, who then stole second and scored on a single by Kyle Clement to make it 4-0.  The Cajuns got their final run in the fourth inning on a double by Clement and a single by Stefan Trosclair.

UTA (24-32) got its only run in the sixth when Matt McLean doubled and scored on a single by Levi Scott.  Scott's single was the last hit in the game for the Mavericks.

Clement had three hits to pace the Cajuns' 12-hit attack, while Trosclair and Girouard had two hits apiece.

The win sends the Cajuns into a Saturday game against Texas State, who defeated the Cajuns, 8-7 on Wednesday.  In order for the Cajuns to get to Sunday's championship game they would have to defeat the Bobcats twice on Saturday.
