Sun Belt Conference Baseball cranks up this season as the sixth-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns head north on US 165 to take on the UL Monroe Warhawks in a three-game series.

Game times are scheduled for 6pm Friday, 1pm Saturday and 1pm Sunday at Warhawk Field.  The games can be heard on 96.5 KPEL-FM or kpel965.com.

The Cajuns (14-2) have won their last four games, including a 7-4 victory over Tulane Wednesday night at Turchin Stadium.  Coach Tony Robichaux has announced Austin Robichaux (2-1, 1.86 ERA) will be the Friday starter, Carson Baranik (3-0, 0.55) will go on Saturday.  The Cajuns' Sunday starting pitcher is TBA.

The Warhawks (7-11) dropped a pair of midweek games to Jackson State, losing 9-5 in Monroe on Tuesday and dropping a 5-2 contest Wednesday in Jackson.

Their scheduled rotation for the weekend is RHP Chris Hunt (1-0, 1,80) on Friday, RHP Alex Hermeling (0-1, 3.60) on Saturday and LHP Alex Dumaine (1-2, 6.89) on Sunday.

The Cajuns are hitting .274 as a team going into the series. CF Seth Harrison (.344-1-12) leads the Cajuns in hitting.  SS Blake Trahan (.340-0-12) and DH Tyler Girouard (.324-0-7) are also over the .300 mark on the season.  Jace Conrad leads the Cajuns in home runs (3) and RBI (18).  The Cajuns are averaging 6.4 runs per contest.

ULM's leading hitters are Justin Stawychny (.297-2-7) and Kodie Tidwell (.288-0-6).  Chet Simoneaux leads the Warhawks with three home runs, while Dalton Herrington is the leader in RBI with 10.  The Warhawks are scoring an average of four runs per game and average .227 at the plate..

This will be the first of two series between the two teams, with ULM returning the visit to M. L. "Tigue " Moore Field May 15-17 to close out the regular season.

Elsewhere in the Sun Belt this weekend, Troy (9-7) is at South Alabama (9-7) , UT Arlington (5-11) plays at Texas State (10-6), Western Kentucky (10-7) visits Georgia State (9-8) and Arkansas-Little Rock (9-5) travels to Jonesboro to take on Arkansas State (8-8).
