Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team begins their 2014-2015 regular season schedule on Friday night, when they play host to the Louisiana College Wildcats at the Cajundome.

Louisiana returns three players who started at least 15 games off a team that went 23-12 last season, while qualifying for the NCAA Tournament.

Among the returnees is junior forward Shawn Long, who averaged 18.6 points-per-game, while pulling down 10.4 rebounds a contest last season.

The Cajuns averaged 81.0 points, while allowing 75.2 in the 2013-2014 season. They shot 46.5% from the floor, while holding opponents to 44.6% per outing.

UL outrebounded the opposition a season ago, 38.1/34.7.

Louisiana College, a Division III school, returns their top three scorers from a season ago, including juniors Anthony Gaines (15.6), Kevin Cottonham (13.8), and Northside High School product Kevin Lewis (13.8).

The Wildcats averaged 75.7 points, while allowing 78.3 in the 2013-2014 season. They shot 42.9% from the floor, while holding opponents to 45.4% per outing.

Louisiana College was outrebounded by the opposition, 41.1/37.3, last season.

Louisiana leads to all-time series, 51-20, and defeated the Wildcats, 101-67, last season in Lafayette.

Tip-off time is slated for 7 o'clock.
