The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns will try to get back on the winning track Saturday when they meet Georgia State in a key Sun Belt Conference matchup.

Game time is scheduled for 1;15 and can be heard on ESPN 1420 and HOT 107.9.

Louisiana (14-8, 4-5 Sun Belt) opens the second half of conference play with their second meeting of the year against the Panthers.  Georgia State (14-7, 7-2) has won seven straight including a 101-86 win over the Cajuns back on January 16th.

Georgia State is led by senior Jeremy Hollowell.  The senior, who transferred in from Indiana, leads the team in scoring (15.7) is second in rebounding (5.4)  Freshman D'Marcus Simonds is the reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week and is second on the club in scoring at a 12.5 ppg clip and is shooting 58% from the field.

Georgia State is currently in a three way tie atop the Sun Belt standings with in-state rival Georgia Southern and Arkansas State.

The Cajuns have four players averaging in double figures, with Frank Bartley IV leading the way at 15.5 ppg.  Senior Jay Wright (14.5), junior Bryce Washington (13.9) and freshman Justin Miller (10-6) also average in double digits.

THE LAST MEETING:  GEORGIA STATE 101, LOUISIANA 86  January 16, 2017--Isaiah Mitchell and D'Marcus Simonds each scored 24 points and Georgia State shot over 60% in each half in taking the lopsided win.  Jeremy Hollowell added 19 points for the Panthers.  The three combined to hit 25-40 from the field.  Georgia State went on an early 9-0 run to take a 14-7 lead and never trailed again in the contest.  The Panthers hit a three pointer at the buzzer to take a 53-42 at the half.  The Cajuns never got the lead back into single digits.

The Cajuns shot only 37% for the game and only a 36-42 effort at the free throw line kept the score from being worse.  Frank Bartley IV led the Cajuns  Bryce Washington had a double double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.  Johnathan Stove had one of his better offensive games with 17 points while freshman Jerekius Davis added 14 points.
