Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Thursday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the South Alabama Jaguars in a Sun Belt Conference match-up.

The game will be the backend of a women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women taking on South Alabama earlier in the day.

Tipoff time for the men’s game is set for approximately 7:15 pm at the Cajundome.

Louisiana, who defeated Georgia St., 87-54, last Saturday, is 7-8, overall, and 3-3 in league play, while South Alabama, who beat UT-Arlington on Saturday, 88-85, is currently 7-10, and 2-4, respectively.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 80.9/75.1, and outshooting them from the floor, 44%/43%, while also holding down a 42.9/35.3 rebound advantage.

Louisiana is led by senior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 19.1 points, to go along with 13.0 rebounds-per-game, and senior guard Kasey Shepherd, who is averaging 11.4 points and 2.2 rebounds a contest.

South Alabama is being outscored by the opposition, 72.4/69.3, and being outshot by opponents from the floor, 43%/41%, while holding down a 38.2/37.6 rebound advantage.

The Jaguars are paced by junior guard Ken Williams, who is scoring 14.6 points, while pulling down 2.9 rebounds-per-game.
