Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Saturday afternoon, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad travels to Jonesboro, Arkansas to take on the Arkansas St. Red Wolves in Sun Belt Conference action.

The game, which will mark the league opener for both teams, will be the back end of a women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women facing Arkansas St. in the first game.

The women’s game is scheduled to tipoff at 2:30 pm, with the men getting underway at approximately 5 o'clock.

The men’s game will serve as the first game of a short two-game road trip for Louisiana, who returns home on January 7, when they entertain ULM.

The Cajuns, who have been idle since December 20, when they beat Pepperdine, 90-64, have won 10 of their last 11, and are 10-3 on the season.

Louisiana is outscoring the opposition, 86.7/71.8, and outshooting them, 48%/45%, while also holding down a 40.4/32.0 rebound advantage.

The Cajuns are paced by junior guard Frank Bartley, who is averaging 16.6 points and 4.0 rebounds, and junior forward Bryce Washington, who is averaging 14.7 points, to go along with 11.8 rebounds.

Arkansas St., who hasn't played since December 23, when they defeated Minnesota, 82-75, will enter the match-up with an overall record of 9-4.

The Red Wolves are outscoring opponents, 75.7/69.0, and outshooting them, 48%/43%, while holding down a 35.8/32.9 rebounding advantage.

Arkansas St. is led by senior guard Devin Carter, who is averaging 17.8 points and 3.5 rebounds-per-game, and junior guard Deven Simms, who is at 13.2 and 4.8, respectively.
