Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Saturday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad travels to New Orleans to take on the Tulane Green Wave in a non-conference match-up.

The game, which will be the first road tilt of the year for Louisiana, will mark the 26th all-time meeting between the two schools, with Tulane winning 21 of the 25 previous games.

Louisiana did win the last math-up, a 24-21 victory in the 2013 New Orleans Bowl, although that win was later vacated.

The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate show, begins at 5 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast in time for the Southside Honda Pregame Show, which will begin at 6 o’clock.

Kickoff time at Yulman Stadium is set for 7 pm.

Louisiana, who defeated South Alabama, 28-23, in their conference opener last week at Cajun Field, is 2-1, overall, and 1-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 22.7 points-per-game, along with 389.7 total yards, 185.7 rushing yards, and 204.0 passing yards, while allowing 30.0 points, 428.7 total yards, 110.3 rushing yards, and 318.3 passing yards.

Louisiana is led by senior quarterback Anthony Jennings, who has completed 54-of-80 passes for 612 yards and 5 touchdowns, and senior running back Elijah McGuire, who has rushed for 408 yards and a touchdown.

Tulane, who dropped their American Conference opener last week, after falling to Navy, 21-14, will enter the match-up at 1-2.

Offensively, the Green Wave is averaging 27.7 points-per-game, along with 330.0 total yards, 274.3 rushing yards, and 55.7 passing yards a contest, while allowing 16.3 points, 285.3 total yards, 145.3 passing yards, and 140.0 rushing yards.

Tulane is paced by sophomore quarterback Glen Cuiellette, who has completed 13-of-25 passes for 139 yards, and junior running back Dontrell Hilliard, who has rushed 236 yards, including 4 touchdowns, on 33 attempts.

The game marks the first game of a two-game road trip for the Cajuns, who return home on Wednesday, October 12, when they host Appalachian St.
