The Louisiana Ragin; Cajuns jumped out to an early 20-6 lead and built on the lead throughout as the Cajuns belted Centenary 115-59 before 3,586 at the CAJUNDOME Saturday afternoon.

Louisiana (5-4) set a school record with 16 made three point shots in the contest (16-26) as the Cajuns built a 64-28 halftime lead and coasted to the easy win.

The Cajuns put five in double figures, with Shawn Long scoring 22 points in just 19 minutes of action.  Xavian Rimmer hit five straight triples down the stretch to finish with 15 points, while junior Devonta Walker added 14, Hayward Register chipped in with 14 points and junior Kasey Shepherd finished with eleven points.

The Cajuns finished with 59.5% shooting, including 61.5 from three point range.

Louisiana also held a 47-36 edge on the glass, and had 26 assists against just ten turnovers in the contest.

James Sapp led the Gentlemen with 17 points, while Justin Cueto added 13 and Caden Cheramie contribute ten points for Centenary, which dripped to 4-7 with the loss.

Only Rimmer played more than 20 minutes for the Cajuns as Coach Bob Marlin substituted liberally, with twelve different players tallying double digit minutes.

Louisiana will now take on Milligan College to wrap up their three game homestand next Wednesday night at 7pm at the CAJUNDOME.
