It was a rather ignominious ending to the 2012 season.

After giving their all in a tough, 11 inning loss the night before which eliminated them from postseason play, Louisiana had nothing left in the tank on Saturday

The Ragin' Cajuns made seven errors, leading to six unearned runs, and ULM roughed up Cajuns' pitching for 15 hits leading the Warhawks to a 17-0 victory in a game shortened to seven innings by the mercy rule.

Senior Joe Zimmerman (0-4) lasted just 2.2 innings in his final start for Louisiana (23-30, 11-19 Sun Belt), giving up five runs, four earned.  Relievers Derek Howell, Ethan Hebert, Kendell Mayer and Ben Frith all followed Zimmerman with little success.

The Cajuns, meanwhile managed just three hits against four ULM pitchers.  Left hander Kendall Thamm made his first start of the season after 25 relief appearances and got the win, running his record to 5-3.

With the win, the Warhawks (28-27, 15-15) clinched the #5 seed for the Sun Belt Tournament, beginning Wednesday in Bowling Green, KY.

The seeds for the conference tournament are:  1. Florida Atlantic, 2. Arkansas State, 3. FIU, 4. South Alabama, 5. ULM, 6. Troy, 7. Middle Tennessee and 8. Western Kentucky.

The teams will play a round robin in each bracket with the #1,4,5 and 8 seeds playing in bracket one and the 2,3,7 and 8 seeds in bracket two.  Each team will have one day off between Wednesday and Saturday.  The bracket winners will meet on Sunday for the championship beginning at 1pm.
