Last year, point guard Elfrid Payton and forward Shawn Long were named to the All-Sun Belt Conference team.

And, this year, they're getting plenty of preseason love.

Payton and Long were both selected to the All-Sun Belt Preseason first team today in a poll of the league coaches.

Payton, a first-team selection a year ago, made quite a name for himself in the off-season, starting every game in the World U-19 basketball tournament, helping lead his team to a gold medal.  Payton led the league in steals and assists and finished in the top five in the league in scoring.

Long, who was a second-team selection last season and the Sun Belt's Freshman of the Year, is also a preseason first team selection.  Long averaged a double-double last season and was second in the league in rebounding.

Other members of the first team included preseason player of the year Augustine Rubit of South Alabama, Western Kentucky's T. J. Price and Georgia State's R. J. Hunter.

All ten teams in the league were represented on the 15 member team chosen by the coaches.
