Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Saturday afternoon, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad plays host to the ULM Warhawks in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both schools.

Pregame coverage begins at 2 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast at 3 o’clock.

The game can be viewed on ESPN3.

Kickoff time at Cajun Field is set for 4 pm.

Louisiana, who fell on the road last week, dropping a 45-21 decision to Texas A&M, is 1-2 on the young season.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 38.0 points-per-game, to go along with 422.7 total yards, including 193.7 rush yards and 229.0 pass yards.

Defensively, Louisiana has allowed 53.0 points a contest, to go along with 553.7 of total offense, including 315.3 rush yards and 238.3 pass yards.

UL is led by quarterback Jordan Davis, who has thrown for 668 yards and 5 touchdowns, and running back Trey Ragas, who rushed for 284 yards and 3 touchdowns on only 29 carries.

ULM, who is 0-2, lost to Southern Miss last week, 28-17.

Offensively, the Warhawks are accumulating 377.5 yards of total offense, including 182.0 rush yards and 195.5 pass yards.

Defensively, ULM has allowed an average of 475.0 total yards, including 301.5 rush yards and 173.5 pass yards.

The Warhawks are paced by quarterback quarterback Garrett Smith, who has thrown for 231 yards and one touchdowns, and running back Derrick Gore,  who has rushed for 137 yards and one score.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 28-24, and has won the last three, including 8 of the last 9.
Last year, the Cajuns defeated the Warhawks, 30-3, in Monroe.
