Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Wednesday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Jackson St. Tigers in a non-conference tilt at the Cajundome.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 o’clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, along with Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 pm.

The game is the first in a stretch of five games in which the Cajuns will be at home for four contests.

Louisiana, who is 2-3 on the young season, is coming off of a 76-52 win over Oral Roberts last Wednesday, in their final game in the MGM Grand Main Event in Las Vegas, Nevada, while Jackson St., who fell to Hofstra, 86-56, last Friday, is currently 1-5.

The Cajuns are outscoring by the opposition, 69.2/66.8, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 46.8.%/40.6%, and holding down a 35.4/33.8 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by senior forward Brian Williams, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 12.2 and 6.2, respectively, along with junior forward Devonta Walker, who is averaging 10.0 points, along with 5.0 rebounds a contest.

The Tigers are being outscored by the opposition, 74.3/60.8, while being out-shot, 47.8%/36.9%, and out-rebounded, 36.8/32.0.

Jackson St. is paced by junior guard Kaven Bernard, who is averaging 11.7 points and 4.8 rebounds-per-game, along with sophomore guard Javeres Brent, who is averaging 11.3 points, along with 4.8 rebounds a contest.

The all-time series is tied, 2-2, with Jackson St. winning the last match-up, 73-70, as season ago in Jackson, Mississippi.
