Cajuns Host Cowboys

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Tuesday night, playing host to the McNeese St. Cowboys in non-conference action at the Cajundome.

Louisiana (1-0) opened their 2013-2014 regular season schedule by defeating Louisiana College, 101-67, on Saturday, while McNeese St. (0-1) lost their season opener, falling 98-56, to second-ranked Michigan St., last Friday.

The Cajuns are led by sophomore forward Shawn Long and junior guard Elfrid Payton, who scored 23 and 21 points, respectively, in the win over Louisiana College, while the Cowboys are paced by sophomore guard Jamaya Burr and senior guard Ledrick Eackles, who both put in 11 points in the loss to Michigan St.

This game wraps-up a short two-game, season-opening home stand for UL, who hits the road this weekend, for match-ups with Arkansas and Baylor, on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 54-34, but McNeese St. won the last meeting, capturing a 77-72 win last year in Lake Charles.

Tip-off time is set for 7:05 pm.
