The two teams haven't met in eight years, but an old rivalry will be renewed Wednesday when the #6 ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns head up US 167 to take on Louisiana Tech.

Game time is scheduled for 6pm at J. C. Love Field at Patterson Park.  The ESPN1420 braodcast begins at 5:30 with Dan McDonald and Jeff Schneider calling the action.

The Cajuns are 3-0 on the young season after sweeping Sam Houston State by scores of 2-1 (10), 6-2 and 13-3 this past weekend.  Senior Kyle Clement was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after going 8-13 in the weekend series with two doubles and four RBI.  Second baseman Brenn Conrad was 5-8 in the series with a home run.

Sophomore right hander Evan Guillory will get the start for the Cajuns.  Guillory was 5-0 with a 4.05 ERA a season ago in sixteen starts.  Louisiana Tech was undecided on their starting pitcher.

The Bulldogs won two out of three over the weekend, defeating Prairie View 7-0 and Southern 15-0 before falling to New Orleans 9-6.  Greg Goff is in his second season as head coach.  The Bulldogs posted a 25-27 record in 2015.  Louisiana Tech was schedule to play Little Rock in Ruston Tuesday, but the game was postponed because of weather.

This will be the 141st meeting between the two schools.  Louisiana holds the lead in the all-time series 78-62 and they are 27-8 against the Bulldogs since Tony Robichaux became head coach.
