Your attention please.  There has been a Hayward Register sighting Wednesday night at the Cajundome.

The Cajuns' shooting guard, mired in a shooting slump all season, exploded for six three point baskets and a game high 22 points as Louisiana defeated Spring Hill College 74-54 before 3,218 Wednesday night at the Cajundome..

Register hit 50% of his shots, going 6-12 with all of his shots from three point range.  Shawn Long (15) and Steven Wronkoski (12) were also in double figures for the Cajuns  Wronkoski and Scott Plaisance led the Cajuns in rebounding with seven apiece.

Walter Massey hit 7-8 from the field and finished with 21 points for the Badgers, a Division II school out of Mobile, AL.

The Cajuns used hot shooting and excellent defense to jump out to a 38-21 lead at halftime.  Spring Hill didn't hit the 30 point mark until midway through the second half  By then Bob Marlin had cleared his bench and Spring Hill was able to cut a 30 point deficit to 20.

The game does not count in the records of the two teams.  Neither do the statistics.
