For the second straight game, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns were frustrated at the end, as Malik Smith hit his only three-pointer of the game with 1:20 to play, leading Florida International to a 75-70 win over Louisiana at U. S. Century Bank Arena in Miami.

The Cajuns (6-11, 2-4 Sun Belt) had fought back from a ten point second half deficit to tie the game at 6-4  But the Cajuns missed two free throws with a chance to take the lead and FIU (6-7, 3-3) got the big shot from Smith.

Tymell Murphy had a career high 28 points and added 15 rebounds and five blocked shots.  The Cajuns were led by Bryant Mbamalu's 23 points, while Elfrid Payton had 14 points, ten assists and nine rebounds, falling one rebound shy of the Cajuns' first triple double by a guard since Aaron Mitchell more than 20 years ago.

The Cajuns will return home Thursday night against South Alabama at the Cajundome.
