Following a night when the bats were working, the defense was shining and starting pitching was stellar, Saturday night Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns were, well, none of the above.

Four Cajuns' errors gave up seven unearned runs and Louisiana only managed four hits in an 8-1 loss at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field in a Saturday night Sun Belt game.

The win by the Trojans (21-26, 9-14 Sun Belt) evened the best of three series at one game apiece, setting up a crucial game three tomorrow afternoon at 1pm.

The Cajuns (23-26, 8-14) took an early lead on a Dylan Butler RBI single but that's all the Cajuns would get off Troy starter Dan Hernandez (4-2) who went the distance.  He was helped by three double plays by his defense.

Meanwhile, the Cajuns gave up two unearned runs in the second inning on errors by Tyler Girouard and starting pitcher Chris Griffitt (5-3), and two more errors led to five more unearned runs in the third.
